Youth Summer Event: Adventure Island

It's summer time again. Time to be in the water! The Altar Server Ministry & Office of Religious Education would like to invite teens to join us for our trip to Adventure Island Tampa.

Date: June 27, 2009 (Saturday)
Meet: 8:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church
Fee: $27 Youth, deadline on June 14, 2009

  • WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO AS AN ALTAR SERVER?
    Being an altar server is a way of being a young steward for God. All you have to do is be present on masses and assist the priest as he celebrates the mass. There are also special tasks that you can do. There is a scheduled training and meeting on July 10th (Saturday) at 2:00 p.m. Here, new altar servers will be taught of how to do the rubrics or actions that altar servers are supposed to do.
     
  • DO I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING?
    Absolutely NOTHING TO PAY FOR! It is your time and effort to serve God that makes you as an altar server.
     
  • HOW WILL I KNOW IF I AM SCHEDULED TO SERVE THIS SUNDAY?
    Download the ALTAR SERVER SCHEDULE..
     
  • WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND MY SCHEDULED SERVICE TIME?
    The schedule will be posted ever month at the sacristy of the Church. If you cannot attend one or more schedule there, contact me or another altar server who can substitute you.
     
  • WHAT IF I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS OTHER THAN THESE?

As summer comes to a close, the altar servers had a fun time playing arcades, puttputt & go-karts at Grand Prix Tampa on Aug 9th. In the picture are (L-R): Emmanuel, Sydney, Josh, Priscilla, Adrian, John, Dardley, Amin, Darnell & Andy.
